What are our Online events like?

Our online events have all the features of our physical shows, from the comfort of your own home! Put your research questions to an expert, watch a free talk, speak to a local society, archive or genealogical supplier.

Watch the video above to find out more.

Ask the Experts

Submit your questions to our panel of experts before the show. Either book a free 1-to-1 session or watch the live stream question panel at 15:30 where you can ask your questions live!

Our Experts cover a wide range of topics, including Military, DNA, House Histories, Social History, Brick Walls and General Research.

We will also have the Society of Genealogists' Census Detectives on hand to answer your questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'd like to join in from overseas but I'm worried about the time difference?

No problem, all lectures and live streams will be available for 24 hours, plus you can submit your questions to our experts in advance!

What software is required?

Most show features will be available via your web browser. However, some features may include a better experience via software or an app (You do not need to register with any of these services):

  • Ask the Experts will be using Zoom, which can be used via a web browser on Windows and Mac, but has a better experience via their software or app (You'll need the "Zoom Client" for Meetings)
  • If you wish to talk to exhibitors via a mobile phone or tablet, you'll need to download the Jitsi Meet app:

If you're using Windows or Mac, you can talk to exhibitors directly via your web browser: Google Chrome, FireFox or the very latest Microsoft Edge

What are the system requirements?

You can use Windows 7 or newer, Mac, iOS and Android. We'd recommend using something bigger than a phone to access the website as it would be preferable to have a bigger screen.

What internet speed would I need?

To engage in audio / video chat with exhibitors we'd recommend a speed of 10Mbs or higher
